Craig Easly, Broker

Craig Easly drives transactions with a steady hand at the wheel and a sharp mind at the ready. As a broker for @properties and a Certified Negotiation Expert with 16 years of real estate experience, Easly has a referral-driven business and focuses on both in- and out-of-state sellers with properties in Chicagoland, as well as in Michigan City, Indiana. “Sellers place a lot of trust in me as we prepare their homes for the market,” he says. “I don’t take that lightly.”

In 2016, Easly onboarded buyer specialists to his team at @properties in order to round out his services and cater to a larger client-base. More recently, he began shifting his attention to the luxury market, letting word-of-mouth testimonials grow his business organically. “There really are no shortcuts,” he says of his all-in approach. “The market is fully educated now more than ever with online tools and TV shows so they know what questions to ask and whether you’ve covered all the bases.”

This past year, after increasing the rental income of his own newly purchased vacation rental property in Michigan City by about 50 percent, Easly decided to become licensed in Indiana. “Neighbors appreciated the upgrades, and asked if I would be doing more work in the area,” he says. “So I figured the opportunity was knocking on the door.”

Prior to entering the real estate industry, Easly had a successful career selling computer software, and to this day, continues to rely on the personal and professional qualities he developed at his first job. “Along with training me to always be overprepared and objective, the experience gave me a competitive advantage. I’m more comfortable with databases and using technology than many of my real estate industry peers,” he explains.

Every year since 2010, Easly has earned more new clients thanks to testimonials on Angie’s List and referrals from past clients, and since 2015, he’s ranked as Premier Agent with a five-star rating on Zillow. He has also been recognized as a Top Producer by Chicago Association of Realtors, is a supporter of North Side Housing and Supportive Services, and is a member of the Chicago Architecture Foundation, where he spent six years as a docent giving the river tour. “It was such a blast seeing the enthusiasm that people from all over the world had for the beauty of our city,” he says. “This is what really led me toward real estate as a career.”

Easly and his wife are adventurous travelers — they recently biked through Slovenia, Italy and Austria with a small group — and he can’t wait for his next “active” vacation.
