Christina Ewing, a senior mortgage advisor at PERL Mortgage, works with buyers of all stripes, helping clients ranging from first-timers to seasoned investors secure the right loan product for them. Ranked among the nation’s top 1 percent of mortgage loan originators by Mortgage Executive magazine, Ewing has two decades of real estate experience and is licensed to lend in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, California and Florida.

In 2017, Ewing led her team in growing their market share of purchase mortgages. “My support team really matured this year and we are hitting on all cylinders like never before,” she says. “We continue to receive more and more excellent reviews from clients, and that is the best indicator that we’re on the right track. We are always working on ways to improve and make it a better experience for our clients.”

Starting in the industry at age 16 by making cold calls for a mortgage broker, Ewing displayed an innate understanding of the business, launching her career while learning on the job. “I am a magna cum laude graduate of the school of hard knocks. Those are the kinds of lessons that one does not forget, ever,” she says, adding that staying focused and keeping both eyes on the market is the No. 1 key to success.

Ewing is the president of the Hephzibah Children’s Home for Oak Park’s Chicago Auxiliary Board and supports a number of veterans groups. Along with her husband, Ewing hopes to visit every country in the world, and over the past 10 years, she has traveled to more than 20. “It’s about adventure and exploration, so it’s not really possible to be disappointed,” she says.
