Charese David, Broker

Menard Johnson Real Estate

Menard Johnson Real Estate

Charese David recently rose to two big challenges: helping a developer find a multi-unit property to convert into a single-family home — she did most of the design and helped devise a layout that would sell — and selling a one-bedroom loft spanning more than 3,000 square feet by creating three floor plans she presented online and in person, as well as staging the home to show how two or more bedrooms could look. “It worked and I sold the home,” says David, a broker in the Chicago North Side market with Menard Johnson Real Estate. “It was one of the highest price points in that area for that type of space.”

She had similar results with the developer’s multi-unit turned single-family home, which she also helped design and layout. “The property sold for one of the highest price points of converted multi-units in that area,” she says. “It was not a cookie-cutter home, but rather one that took a lot of thought and hard work.”

David has been in the real estate industry for 13 years. Previously, she worked in sales for a multimedia company and was regularly pegged a top producer. “I had always helped my business clients achieve their objectives and deadlines, and loved it,” she says. “But I wanted to have a more personal experience with my clients and continue growing my relationship with them.” Having already owned multiple properties, she thought with her knowledge and sense of design, she could bring a real value to the real estate market.

“It is important to be educated in all facets of real estate, as they all ultimately touch each other,” says David, noting that she participates in ongoing marketing and negotiation training. She is a member of the Top Agent Network, consistently ranked among the top 10 percent of Chicago-area agents, and a Chicago Association of Realtors Top Producer.

David works with all types of clients: first-time buyers, repeat clients who buy and sell, and relocation clients from all over the world, whom she gives personalized tours of Chicago neighborhoods.

“I am honored to have so many wonderful people in my life that continue to play a role in my world even after the real estate transaction,” she says. As a board member of Roscoe Village Neighbors for the past four years, David also enjoys volunteering in her local community.
