Andrew J. Perkins always knew that real estate was his true calling, and even after more than 18 years in the industry, he continues to serve clients with the same energy and enthusiasm. As the founder and CEO of Dwelling Chicago, Inc with Compass, Perkins has a portfolio that consists of buyers, sellers and investors.

After graduating from college, Perkins started in the investment banking sector. Through that experience, Perkins offers a well-rounded view of the market’s inner workings and he is able to provide his clients with insights about the nuances of buying or selling a home. “My background in accounting and finance, as well as my experience in development, lends itself nicely to working in the real estate industry,” he says.

Perkins has also worked on the development side of real estate which he enjoys, but as he says, “there is something great about seeing the immediate satisfaction and happiness when working one-on-one with clients who are looking to buy or sell their homes. I realize that can be a stressful process and I try to make it as easy and fun as possible for my clients. Let’s be honest, buying, selling and moving can be highly emotional. It should be exciting!”

In 2017, Perkins added four new employees to Dwelling Chicago, expanding the team’s bandwidth to take on more clients while still maintaining its personalized service. “I mainly work off referrals and repeat business, which in itself is a positive testimonial,” he explains, adding that clients appreciate his no-nonsense approach, honesty and determination. Last year, one of Perkins’ sales was the condo belonging to Sean Conlon of CNBC’s “The Deed: Chicago.” “It is nice to be recognized by one’s peers,” he says.

Perkins is a member of the Chicago Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, their 8-month-old and 4-year-old sons, and their dog, Hayden. In the summer, he can often be found at a playground in his neighborhood, North Center, or enjoying a nice outdoor patio. In the fall and winter, Perkins enjoys skiing or taking in a college football game.
