Roosevelt University will be hosting a private reception and artistic celebration honoring Marshall Bennett on Thursday, April 3 at 5:30 p.m. at the university’s Wabash Building.
The school, along with Bija Bennett and the Bennett family, will be debuting “Lifescape: A Video Portrait of Marshall Bennett,” a permanent installation open to the public. The installation is the creation of Bennett’s daughter, Bija, and features a film directed by noted video artist Lincoln Schatz with music recorded by cellist Ken Olsen of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Born in 1921 on the south side of Chicago, Marshall Bennett is a visionary in real estate development and one of the inventors of the modern industrial park. He co-founded the Marshall Bennett Institute of Real Estate at Roosevelt University in 2002.
