Joseph Caltabiano has been in the lending business since 2001, and ever since, has been at the top of his profession. He consistently closes over $10 million a month, and his achievements include ranking in the top 25 loan officers in the U.S. to closing in excess of $1 billion throughout the course of his career. But helping clients is the ultimate reward Caltabiano receives from his career as senior vice president of mortgage lending at Guaranteed Rate. “Helping clients into their home and making the lending process as painless as possible is my favorite part of my job,” he says. “Giving clients a positive mortgage experience instead of all the negative ones people read about is very important to me.” He specializes in jumbo and super jumbo lending, and currently, more than 50 percent of his business is jumbo lending. “Whether for luxury new construction condos in the city or custom high-end homes, I am an expert in every type of lending,” he says.

Caltabiano is looking to achieve even more in the near future, and aspires to help Chicago developments thrive once again through loans. “I’d like to create loan products and programs that help projects sell units faster,” he says. He credits his team for his successes, as well. “I have the best team in the industry, ranging from mortgage consultants to processors to marketing and social media. We all strive to provide customers and referrals with current information, low rates and lightning-fast turn times.”
