Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan is auctioning off his Highland Park mansion.

There’s the “House that Jordan Built,” and then there’s the house that Michael Jordan had built for him. One of them is up for auction, and it’s not the “Madhouse on Madison.”

According to a recent report by the Wall Street Journal, the basketball legend is putting his 56,000-square-foot Highland Park mansion up for auction on Nov. 22. Bidders must deposit $250,000 in order to make a bid on the nine-bedroom, 15-bathroom home, the report said.

The property rests on 7.39 acres. The price is currently set at $21 million. Katherine Chez Malkin, of Baird & Warner, is the listing agent.

Jordan, who told the WSJ that he no longer needs the large home because his kids are grown, officially listed the property for $29 million in February 2012. The Chicago Bulls great purchased the property in 1991 and moved into the newly-built home in 1994. Jordan, who led the Bulls to six NBA Championships, told the WSJ that auctions are becoming a great way for people to sell special homes.

“Some of the best things in the world are sold at auction, and I’ve seen that this is the beginning of a trend for selling unique, one-of-a-kind homes,” he said.

The estate has many amenities: full-size basketball court, luxury locker rooms, outdoor tennis court, pool pavilion, three-bedroom guest wing, putting green, entertainment space, pond and the number 23 welded across the property’s front gates. Malkin told the WSJ the property will come fully-furnished.

Concierge Auctions, based in New York, will host the live auction, with assistance from Malkin.
