With Renewal Deadlines Looming, IDFPR Offers New Resources

by Chicago Agent

With the license deadline drawing ever closer, there are resources available to agents and brokers.

It’s no mystery to Illinois agents that all salesperson and broker licenses will expire on April 30, and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) is taking measures to assist agents in the transition.

The department has issued a detailed frequently asked question (FAQ) page that assists real estate licensees completing the transition/renewal process with information on all the various deadlines and applications involved in the process. The FAQ also includes an explanation about how the department’s “License Look Up” page will change after the transition deadline occurs in three days.

The IDFPR is not the only resource for agents, though. The Real Estate Institute also has FAQs containing information about the transition process and continuing education agents can pursue.

Unsurprisingly, things have been busy at the Institute. Alan Toban, who works with the institute, said he expects extra activity through Monday.

“We’re still at over 1,000 calls per day to ask questions and enroll,” Toban said. “Over 100 students per hour are completing their exams. We expect to be busy through Monday.”
