@properties, Chicagoland’s largest independent real estate brokerage, has hired Rebecca Thomson as vice president of agent development.

Thomson, 29, comes to @properties from Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty, where she was a senior associate. With eight years of experience in residential real estate sales, Thomson has extensive involvement in the industry. She has served as president of the Chicago Women’s Council of Realtors and was recently named to the National Association of Realtors “30 Under 30” list. She currently sits on the board of directors for the Chicago Association of Realtors and is chair of the Illinois Association of Realtors’ Young Professionals Network.

As vice president of agent development, Thomson will be responsible for creating and implementing educational, training and business-development initiatives for over 1,300 @properties brokers in Chicagoland and Southwest Michigan. She will also serve as a performance coach by meeting with agents on a regular basis to help them plan and achieve their business goals.

“A huge part of @properties’ value to brokers is that we provide the programs and pathways for them to grow their brand and their business,” said @properties co‐founder Thaddeus Wong. “Rebecca is a skilled and accomplished realtor and has demonstrated great leadership in the industry. She’s the ideal candidate for this position.”

“I was attracted to @properties because of its unique culture and the exciting opportunities it holds for my real estate career,” Thomson said. “This position presented the perfect opportunity to get into management with a company that empowers agents to promote their own brand and think differently.”

Thomson is a University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign graduate, holding a bachelor’s degree in English. She is actively involved with the community, serving on boards for both the Union League Club of Chicago and Step Up Women’s Network, which provides after-school and mentoring programs for teenage girls in underserved neighborhoods throughout the city. Thomson also writes “The Condoist,” a blog on the Chicago Tribune’s Chicago Now website.
