@properties Expands Further in the Suburbs with New Barrington Office

by Stephanie Sims

@properties@properties, the largest residential brokerage firm in the city of Chicago and the largest independent real estate firm in Illinois, is continuing its rapid expansion throughout Chicagoland with the opening of an office in Barrington. This marks the firm’s third new suburban office location within the last year.

Located at 508 S. Northwest Hwy, the 3,800-square-foot office is just south of Main Street and within walking distance of the Barrington Metra station.

@properties has already landed the top-producing real estate broker in Barrington, John Morrison, whose sales volume exceeds $33 million over the last 12 months. Morrison has been the No. 1 broker in Barrington since 2010, based on closed sales volume. He was previously affiliated with RE/MAX of Barrington, where he was the firm’s top-selling broker.

According to data from BrokerMetrics LLC, Barrington had residential sales volume of $691 million for the 12-month period ended August 31. The area had an average sales price of $515,799 during that same period.

“Barrington is a strong marketplace with great opportunities for growth. As a large, independent company, we have the resources and agility to get out ahead of that growth and quickly establish market share,” said @properties co-founder Thaddeus Wong.

“We’ve been doing business in Barrington for a while, and we knew that we could do a lot more if we could establish a strong retail presence. The marketing and technology we offer is crucial in an affluent marketplace like Barrington, and our clients and brokers will gain an advantage,” said Golden. “We’re looking forward to serving the community and surrounding suburbs from this location.”

The office will serve a number of surrounding communities including Palatine, Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove and Lake Zurich.
