It’s a new year, and that means New Year’s resolutions. But forget about your personal resolutions – what are the resolutions you’re making for your business? Do you want to increase the number of referral clients? Cultivate and develop new relationships? Exceed your clients’ expectations? Be even more of a market expert?

When it comes to any resolution for improving your business, your knowledge of the marketplace is key and confirms that you are a market expert. This will help in all areas of your business – establishing yourself as an expert in Chicagoland’s market is the foundation you need to accomplish almost any business resolution you make for yourself this year. Chicago Agent is here to help with its 2014 Market Outlook issue. We took a look at inventory levels, year-over-year price changes and buyer demand; interviewed top-producing agents, an economics/geography professor and the chief economist of the National Association of Realtors; and analyzed the state of the market now and what agents can expect this year. Employment, mortgage rates, inventory – everything you need to know about the market is in this issue.

By the way, my New Year’s resolution is to find new expert sources for this year’s issues. Know of any agents who we should interview for our upcoming cover stories? Check out our editorial calendar online (chicago.staging312.com/about/editorial-calendar), see what topics we’ll be covering this year and email any agent recommendations to stephanie@chicago.staging312.com.
