M/I Homes Launches New Pleasant Square Development in Schaumburg

by Kasey Chronis

M/I Homes recently held a grand opening for Pleasant Square, its newest Schaumburg development. The townhome community will be located at the northwest corner of Roselle and Schaumburg roads, while maintaining vicinity in the Olde Schaumburg Centre Historic District. Three floor plans will be made available, ranging from 1,900 to 2,400 square feet. M/I Homes has already sold more than 25 percent of the development, which will include 99 homes starting at $298,990.

Although there are many developments in Schaumburg and surrounding communities, Pleasant Square offers unique amenities that are not available in most townhomes. For example, each home will have a different exterior façade and carriage-styled garage door. In addition, the style of the homes will be open and feature multiple-levels to accompany residents looking for spacious living. Nine-foot main floor ceilings will be included in all townhomes, in addition to two-car attached garages.

Variety seems to be a theme at M/I Homes’ Pleasant Square Development; flexible floorplans will be offered, giving residents different options when choosing their 2 or 3 bedroom home. State-of-the-art walk in showers will be installed in each master bedroom along with other luxurious amenities. M/I Homes may be pulling out all the stops, however, they are guaranteeing that each of the homes in Pleasant Square will be 100 percent energy efficient. Included will be high efficiency furnaces, Low-E glass windows and programmable setback thermostats.

Sales Manager at M/I Homes Chicago, Andy Simac expressed interest in the company continuing to develop in Schaumburg. He said, “What’s not to like? The city is diverse with great industry and a solid residential base.” It is also conveniently located near Woodfield Mall and other shopping opportunities, Schaumburg Golf Club and the location gives residents ample job opportunities. Ned Brown Forest Preserve is also just a drive away, which offers outdoor space and activities. Simac added, “We’ve greatly enjoyed getting Pleasant Square off the ground and would relish the opportunity to build in Schaumburg in the future.”
