The former President of Midwest Real Estate Data (MRED) Multiple Listing Service (MLS), Dean Rouso, has been awarded the Distinguished Service Award at a ceremony that took place during MRED’s Strategic Planning conference in downtown Chicago.

Rouso, who is the managing broker of Baird & Warner in LaGrange, has been a member of MRED’s Board since its inception in April 2008. In addition to his MLS service, Rouso has been involved in the MainStreet Organization of Realtors, as well as the Illinois and National Association of Realtors.

In January 2010, he was elected as the president of MRED and served until January 2012.

“I am very proud to receive this award from MRED,” said Rouso. “It is gratifying to be appreciated by my peers for the important work we have accomplished together these last few years. MRED has now gained its rightful place amongst MLSs in the country, and I am thrilled to have played a part in the growth of this organization.”

Under Rouso’s leadership, a board of managers was formed, and MRED CEO Russ Bergeron was selected in a search spearheaded by Rouso. The success and prominence of MRED in the real estate industry is a tribute to the vision he embraced and helped to implement.

“On behalf of MRED’s leadership, we congratulate Dean Rouso on the selfless service he has given to this company,” said MRED President Rob Schaid, broker/owner of the RE/MAX Plaza Group. “I was proud to work with Dean on bringing stability to MRED, and we have flourished under his leadership creating a cutting edge MLS. I look forward to continuing to work with Dean in the years to come.”

“Dean Rouso is a rare individual who deeply cares about issues and yet respects the roles that others have in an organization,” said MRED CEO Russ Bergeron. “I have not had a better working relationship with anyone, and I will truly miss being able to impose upon him for his input and guidance regarding Board issues. He sets the standard for great leadership and demonstrated what can be accomplished by one dedicated individual.”
