John Oertel and Nicole Fabiano-Oertel have a history of changing their clients’ lives for the better. Together, they have more than 22 years of experience in the real estate industry. This talented husband and wife team have helped more than 1,000 homeowners avoid foreclosure as Home Solutions, a full-service short sale company that Nicole founded in 2010. When the market began to recover, they formed the Oertel Group and brought on three additional agents to shift their focus to residential and commercial real estate sales.

Named Rookie of the Year in 2011 for both sales volume and most units sold, John works with developers on new home projects, helps new business owners in the West Loop find new spaces, and handles many residential listings and sales throughout the city. Nicole continues to help clients with short sales. “I will keep negotiating short sales until my phone no longer rings with sellers and agents that need my help,” says Nicole, who also heads up the Oertel Group’s luxury division. “After short sales slowed down, I knew I wanted to once again start working in the luxury market and concentrate more of my business in the North Shore and NW Chicagoland areas.” With nearly a decade of South Florida luxury sales experience, she brings her wealth of experience to each client’s unique situation.

True entrepreneurs, the pair continues to work on personal projects within the real estate industry. In their downtime, this busy team enjoys spending time at hockey games and boating on Lake Michigan, but their favorite way to enjoy life is traveling with their two-year-old daughter.
