The dynamic duo of Carrie McCormick and Cindi Sodolski has made an indelible mark on Chicagoland’s real estate market. With more than 20 years of combined experience in helping people buy and sell homes, their track record speaks for itself. The Chicago Association of Realtors has ranked the pair among its top 1 percent of Realtors. In addition, last year they earned the organization’s silver award for sales volume, which honors sales volume between $30 million and $50 million, and received the bronze award for units sold, which recognizes selling 55 to 79 units.

McCormick describes herself as an entrepreneur inspired by a love for architecture and design coupled with her passion to help others. She leverages her background in advertising, sales and marketing
to assist every type of client, including first-time buyers, luxury home seekers, investors and developers. “My approach is never ‘one size fits all’ because each client and each situation is unique,” she explains. “I create a custom strategy for each buyer and seller so that I can manage their expectations from the outset with honesty and integrity.”

Her partner Sodolski agrees. “Honesty is extremely important to us, and so is making ourselves available when our clients need us.” Sodolski’s experience in purchasing a new construction home (i.e. picking finishes, deciding elevation, etc.) prompted her transition into real estate from her former career, in which she sold advanced medical equipment to prominent physicians. The lessons she learned in her previous profession continue to resonate with her. “I had to be extremely knowledgeable, remain calm under pressure, and treat people with kindness and respect,” she says. “Most of all, I learned that it’s important to love what you do because it will show in how you do it!”

Much of the duo’s business includes new construction and rehab properties, and most of their clients come by way of referral – a testament to their ability to stand out in the city’s competitive real estate market and maintaining strong relationships with other agents. McCormick says their partnership – built on the foundation of a long- term friendship that predates the formation of C&C – means they can truly be in two places at the same time, and clients know they can always be reached. “We work 24/7 and we’re always available for showings because we always pick up the phone!” she laughs. Sodolski calls this “the power of two” when it comes to helping people with one of the biggest decisions of their lives. “We put ourselves in our clients’ shoes when we’re negotiating on their behalf and we make certain to perform ample due diligence so that we can solve any problems that might arise.”

Despite their busy schedules, McCormick and Sodolski make time to volunteer in the community. McCormick gives back through her engagement with various local civic causes while Sodolski supports organizations like the Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation and Autism Speaks. Each also draws inspiration from her family: McCormick is the mother of two sons and Sodolski is the mother of four children, including triplets. “We’ve met the most extraordinary people thanks to what we do, which isn’t just about helping people to buy or sell a home, but rather helping them achieve the life goal they’ve set for themselves,” says Sodolski. “That’s right,” McCormick agrees. “We’re faced with challenges that require us to think outside of the box each day to help people enter the next chapter in life, so our main priority is creating a winning solution for them to ensure that happens.”
