Andrea Miller

Principal/Managing Broker
Miller Chicago Real Estate

Miller Chicago Real Estate Founder Andrea Miller likes a challenge. Her problem-solving expertise and love of numbers make her a go-to broker for complex commercial transactions. A former Wall Streeter who worked at the trading desk of a top investment bank, her background in finance and real estate development has been critical to her success as principal of her firm, which handles both commercial and residential brokerage.

Miller has earned distinction as a Chicago Association of Realtors Platinum Sales Broker, and has been named a Costar Retail Power broker twice. Perhaps her biggest accomplishment, though, is that some of the most prominent and respected real estate minds in Chicago choose Miller as their trusted partner, giving her the opportunity to participate in some of Chicago’s most exciting new projects. She says that having great clients with whom she can collaborate, learn, and share experiences is a reward in itself.

“This is the perfect career, because it allows me to utilize my real estate finance, real estate investment, and financial sales experiences,” explains the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign honors graduate. Miller also earned a MBA from the University of Chicago, where she received the Richard & Amy Wallman academic scholarship and graduated with honors in the top 8 percent of the class.

Most of her clients are investors, developers, financial institutions, and commercial tenants/retailers, all of whom appreciate her finance background and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification. “They find that I can understand the complexities of certain commercial transactions that other agents may not have been exposed to,” she says. “That makes me unique and helps me understand their goals, so I can help them achieve the results they want.” She finds serving clients immensely rewarding. “Every day I learn something new – a new street, a new neighborhood, or even a new business when I help bring new concepts to Chicago or help a growing startup lease its first commercial space. I appreciate that I have the chance to see new projects before everyone else, because it gives me the opportunity to help shape the trends that will make a positive impact on the community.”

Miller holds membership in the Urban Land Institute, Women’s Council of Realtors, and CFA Institute. She enjoys sharing what she has learned throughout her 12-year career in finance, development, and real estate by mentoring new talent. “I’ve been told I do a great job identifying people’s strengths and helping them develop those talents,” she says. “That’s because I know anyone who has integrity, a positive attitude, is willing to work hard, and wants to grow professionally and personally is someone I can connect with, because those are the same qualities I strive to embody every day.”
