I learned the business through trial and error, that is, experienced agents sharing their trials and errors.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read?
Realionaire was a motivational read; you can go a long way in life if you use your head for more than a hat rack.

What is your favorite restaurant?
Tim’s Cafe has the best food. You can eat in or carry out, and the food is always made to order. Plus, most of the time it’s free…

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Chicago?
The Smurfit-Stone building on North Michigan Avenue; whatta design!

What kind of car do you drive?
I drive an all-purpose mobile office

BlackBerry, Palm or paper?
Using paper and longhand beats trying to find the letters to enter text on a Blackberry or Palm any day.

What is your favorite city after Chicago?
Dallas; it’s a beautiful place with wonderful people where the temperature is always moderate.

What is your personal motto?
Never give up; you’re always closer than you think.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
You must eliminate every “no” to get to a “yes.”
