MRED announces new chief communications officer

by Meg White

Midwest Real Estate Data, LLC announced today that Jon Broadbooks is their new chief communications officer. Broadbooks was most recently the vice president for communications for Illinois Realtors and previously spent two decades as a reporter and editor.

“I have long admired MRED’s commitment to its subscribers, and I am excited to be joining a company which has always been on the cutting edge of real estate technology,” Broadbooks said in a press release announcing the hire.

The announcement came after last month’s news that MRED’s chief outreach officer, Jeff Lasky, would be leaving to become CEO of the North Shore-Barrington Association of Realtors, a role he officially started yesterday. Though Broadbooks’ title is different from Lasky’s, MRED confirmed that Broadbooks would encompass the outreach functions that Lasky managed for the multiple listing service. In addition, the organization will be examining ways to bring marketing and communications into its overall outreach efforts.

“Jon’s broad experience as a communicator, both in the media and through his work with Realtor associations throughout Illinois, makes him a natural choice for this role,” MRED CEO Rebecca Jensen said. “The best organizations communicate well, and having Jon work with our members furthers MRED’s commitment to service for our subscribers.”
