It’s hard to believe that the much-anticipated TRID update happened almost a year ago. One of the first issues I edited was our 2015 Fall Lending Update issue, and of course TRID was all anyone was talking about.
This year, we decided to focus on another crucial aspect of the lending industry: the relationship between agents and lenders. Though both sides are working toward the common goal of securing financing for the client, misunderstandings and miscommunications are common, and there is still confusion around the documentation and processes following the implementation of TRID. Our cover story addresses the techniques and communication methods that agents and lenders can employ to make their transactions run a little smoother.
In this issue, we also looked at the fallout of TRID, the rise of alternative credit scoring options, and results from a survey our readers took leading up to this issue.
