The sales for Chicago residential broker Jennifer Ames have exceeded $100 million in 2012.

Chicago residential broker Jennifer Ames announced today that her sales for the year have exceeded $100 million. The number firmly secured Ames’ position as the top-selling broker in Chicagoland, a ranking she has held since May. As of Aug. 29, her closed and pending sales for 2012 totaled $107 million, nearly double her 2011 sales of $58 million.

“The Chicago residential market finally turned the corner earlier this year, and we were ideally positioned to run with it. We are highly proactive with the staging of the homes we market, which gave our sellers a built-in advantage when buyers started buying,” said Ames, who leads a small team of agents and industry professionals. “As a full-service boutique within Coldwell Banker, we make the home-selling process as easy as possible. The quality and scope of our marketing, combined with 18 years of expertise, are keys to our success.”

Fran Broude, President of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, also commended on Ames’ successful 2012.

“Jenny is truly a leader in our industry,” Broude said. “Years of past success have led her to this monumental achievement. Her passion for real estate, business savvy and extraordinary client service make her one of the top agents in the country. We are very proud to have such a talented professional as part of our organization.”

Ames described the current residential market in the city as the best it has been since the nationwide real estate downturn that began in 2008. She reported seeing increased demand and slight price increases on homes locally.

Ames’ sales for the year consisted of 89 transactions with an average sale price of $1.2 million. She represented home sellers in 56 transactions and buyers in 33 transactions. Ames has a current inventory of 58 homes listed at a total value of approximately $72 million. She represents single-family homes, luxury homebuilders, condos, townhomes, co-operative apartments, rental properties and land parcels.

A fifth-generation Chicagoan and great granddaughter of turn-of-the-century Gold Coast developer Nathanial Fairbank, Ames has been a leader in Chicago’s residential market since 1994. She is president of Jennifer Ames Chicago, a boutique group within Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. The group specializes in Chicago’s North Side, including the Gold Coast, Lincoln Park and Lakeview neighborhoods.
